Dissatisfied
We stay here every year when we go Christmas shopping. Every year it has been bad, but this was the worst.
We had to sit in our car for two hours, because there was no parking and were told that this was our problem not theirs. Desk clerk was extremely rude And did not help at all. This place is rundown, and the people around there are very sketchy. Every person that we had to deal with was extremely rude and did not care if we had a problem.
We have stayed every year for many years and this was my last time to stay here. There is a club in the motel, and it is very very loud. The room smelled very strongly of pot and was not very clean.
We stay always in an interior room, because there is no way I would ever stay in one of their exterior rooms. All I saw was a bunch of druggies and possible *** do not stay here.

Completely disgusted, hygiene issues, weird smell, bugs!
I booked a stay at the Clarion in Romulus, Detroit on Sept 14 through the 18th, 2023. I booked it through Booking.com .
It was almost 1 am when I got to the hotel. The shuttle driver was great. He really showed us around. Once walking into the hotel, the smell that hits you is just nauseating.
It was a fake, overpowering sweet smell that is trying to cover something. We got our key and were trying to open the door when the key fob wasn't keyed properly. We had to go back and key a new one. Going through the hallway was even more of a terrible smell.
When we opened the door, the room was terrible. The stench of whatever it was physically was making me ill. It was almost 1 am at this point. My mom, who is elderly, was exhausted.
We had flown all day to be with our family for a tragic death of her brother. We were already mentally fragilee. When I went to go sit down on the bed, the bedding pulled. I noticed no mattress cover.
I looked down on the floor, turning on the light and saw bugs, dead ones, markings and trails. They were on the back of the headboard. I pulled back the sheet and the mattress and was absolutely appalled, disgusted, and mortified to think that people had been sleeping here. See the pictures below.
There were blood stains, brown stains, dirt and knows what else. It was so bad it made my stomach turn. I could not believe it. I told my mom we were not staying here, especially for the amount we had spent.
I helped my mom down to the front desk, let her sit while I went up. I respectfully demanded that we get a refund and they cancel our reservation. I could not stomach the smell and it was effecting my breathing. I showed the two young staff members at the front the pictures of the room and bed.
They looked shocked, took pictures of my pictures, then told me there was no night manager. I was told I would have to wait to the early am to have one of the managers look into it. I was furious I would have to wait. They told me I could have another room, but that I was still going to be charged for the entire stay (14-18th of September).
I wanted to leave. If I left I would be paying for 2 different places. We decided to stay and have another room. It was not much better.
The room still had bugs around the edges and corners. These rooms obviously do not get vacuumed but only so far. The bathroom had old grime, brownish stains and was just not the way the hotel represented themselves on line. The next morning my neck looked like it was broken out on the right side.
I had a rash on the left side of my neck. We got up and dressed and I went to the manager. She was not apologetic nor did it seem to bother her. She offered to discount the room half off.
I said fine but then changed my mind because of the smell of the hotel. I just could live in that room, I wanted to leave. Bookings website said to contact the hotel for cancelations. The manager said no, to contact the 3rd party site.
I felt trapped because I could get no one to help. I couldn't deal with the hotel issue any longer that day, as we had a family death that we were dealing with and grieving over. After an extremely long day and getting nowhere we went back to the hotel and had to stay the night due to the issue not being resolved. The room had not been cleaned or anything.
The The next morning I took as much as we could. I called booking got it straight, we checked out of the Clarion. Between the smell of chemicals, fake sweet smells, and extremely toxic health conditions of their mattresses, sheets floors, bathrooms and headboard smears of bodily fluids, we will not stay there ever again am absolutely mortified that there are no checks and balances for cleanliness. The amount of possible transmittable germs were insane.
I used to work EMS and have seen cleaner crime scenes than that mattress. The pictures do it no justice. I am extremely unsatisfied and quite frankly shocked. Your company, regardless of new management or not, must take better care.
The manager on the 2nd night we had to stay was more concerned with telling us she was getting off work not to miss her hair appointment than rather making sure her handoff was to someone with the same leadership position and or supervisory abilities.
Have not had a receipt or anything sent to us. Booking canceled the 16 through 18th of Sept with no penalty.

We check in for our stay 07/03/2023 through 07/07/2023, first thing no microwave, no iron, soon after we got settled I put room the toilets would not flush and flooded the bathe room , we called and let the person at the desk what was happening she called maintenance and then told me he would be there to repair toilet and bring microwave,. It wasnt until almost dark when he showed up, he worked o it and when he left he told it was fixed and explained how we were to flush it so that it would work,, huh?
Anyway soon after he left it started to not flush and flood,, we called desk he never returned, next morning I called and told the desk person that I wanted to move to a new room , she was irritated and wanted to know what my issues were,, i told her about the microwave and the toilet, she says well I wont be able to live uou until after 3:90. And I cant promise youll have a room with microwave,, waiting till 3:00 I thought wss totally unreasonable, but what could we do, the maintenance did not shoe up to look at again , at 3:00 I went down to desk to ask how our move was doing , and the person follow her shift did know anything about it, so again I explained, she was very sorry and right away got our transfer done, this woman not only made us wait till 3:00 with a toilet yhAt dont flush but flooded , but did not have the decency to pass the info on,, we have displaced for a month while waiting for our apartment to come available, my hudbsnd has emphysema and needed to rest, no tv service, no internet strbicr for 2 1/2 days of our 4 day stay, when I fpoke to the woman following the other employee , I find out shes the manger,,and what a wonderful helpful person she is , she came to our room at check out time and took my husbands breathing machine out to our car

Very rood receptionist. You pay for a full day and you can not check in until 4 pm?
When I asked the receptionist about this she got rude and said check in is at 4 we will see you then really snooty. I even call and requested a early check in 3 days prior and they told me that they will put it in there notes. This was about 1130 a.m. We didn't get into the room until 330 pm.
Which there was a lot of spider webs in the window and one of the queen beds was broke. The pool was dirty and a lot of broken items throughout the hotel. Breakfast was disgusting. Pancakes were hard around the edges, ham was boiled at least that is what it looked like, hard boiled eggs where frozen, and toaster controls was broke so the toast would burn.
Will never return to this Hotel again. Don't recommend it to anyone.

First off I was homeless when I came here just had a spinal surgery they had people smoking in front of there door smoke coming in my room reported nothing was done same guy set the fire alarm off yesterday . Employees says if the guest scared they can go across the street to the fire department.
They are ratchet here .
Spoke with the GM Steve about getting my room c lean and he said it would get done sat trash and laundry sat in my room all weekend long . They take your towels and most of the time u have to go get clean ones aal so finally made my own bed went to the front desk and hit towels and sheets and good thing I bought my own tissue Went to complain he asked me was I Checking out on the 31 smh the head follows the tail meaning he don't care about the hotel or his job I been here 3 months yeah everybody have a bad day but he never want to address anything going on also a pair of tickets 120.00 got stolen out of my room I had bought them for my son for his bday and a guess that was there for the weekend hit my truck didn't report it cause they don't care about it over all this was a worst experience I wouldn't recommmend nobody stay here and it s noisy as well

My stay at the Clarion Hotel , Concord, Ca was total disappointment
Check-in date: July 6, time was between 5:30/6:30P, slipped and fell on a cracked paver just short of the lobby, was helped up by two gentlemen who were using hotel baggage cart. Female desk clerk looked me in the eye and never asked if I was hurt, or was I okay, As I checked in I inquired about checkout payment procedures, also asking for an incident report of some kind on my fall was met with hostility and rudeness.
At this point I hand her my ID and Credit Card for processing, she then tries the card backwards, informing me my card was declined, at which time I informed her that I had in fact spoken to Capital One 45 minutes earlier being informed that I had more than what would be needed for a one week stay plus deposit.
She had my card and ID to a customer waiting and tells them to process my card and got upset because I asked to speak to a manager. Will follow-up with a letter to Corporate Office.

Had bugs
Had bugs and stuff all over the floor black stuff all on bed and under the sheets the bathroom had old suit on the railing and I killed 2 roaches I guess that was the bug . I was itching all over so I called to switch rooms and the next rooms was dirty too ..
so the 3 room was better and we stayed in that one at 3 in the morn dragging my kid around waking him up no sleep and missed my dr appt why I came to Galveston in first place . All I asked for was to let us check out later that day for inconvenience and she only offer till 100 and that all she could do was give me 2 mor hours ! After all that ! Ridiculous..
I would have comped stay or have me another nite or anything better than what she offered I didnt even ask for my money back .
Brooke I think the manager was very unaccommodating and it was rude of her . I felt very disrespected and disappointed.

It looks terrible. It advertises itself as a budget hotel.
The town’s population has a quarter of the people below the poverty line. It just screams “don’t have to try hard.”
